ABOUT

Lilly David is an expressive and impassioned artist. She began dancing seriously at the age of 13 at The Gold School in Brockton, Massachusetts under the direction of Rennie Gold. Prior to this, she was a competitive gymnast and also heavily involved in the community theater scene. In theater, she quickly developed a passion for dance and, as a result, sought out more serious training. Lilly auditioned for, and ultimately became a member of, the Project Moves Dance Company: an outreach-driven youth company that presented annual concerts centering on social issues. She went on to join the Apprentice Training Program at Project31 Dance Company in Weymouth, Massachusetts under the direction of Kenzie Finn. Lilly also participated in The PULSE On Tour dance convention where she assisted faculty on full scholarship and traveled the country. She highly accredits these varied training experiences for the artist she is today. Lilly is currently on scholarship completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance at Boston Conservatory at Berklee under the direction of Tommy Neblett. While in school, Lilly has had the opportunity to perform both restaged and new works by José Limón, Christina Chan, Ruka Hatua-Saar White, Chung-Fu Chang, and Katie Corrao. She has trained extensively in ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary forms, with additional training in improvisation, floorwork, composition, tap, musical theater, hip hop, and somatics. When not in school, Lilly supplements her training with dance intensives, most recently at Limón Dance Company and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She also enjoys working with children and has taught/coached both dance and gymnastics for the past eight years.
